During your
stay in the Engadin the place called Muottas Muragl is an absolute „must-see“. If
you love hiking you might take the trail up to Muottas Muragl which takes about
2 hours. As an alternative you may go up with the cable car (which is running until
11.00 pm during summer and winter season – advice: enjoy the sunset). The steep
journey with the red cable car is already an experience. Muottas Muragl (2’453
m ASL) offers one of the best panoramic views that you can have in the Engadin.
An all-around look opens the breathtaking view over St. Moritz, the mountains,
the lakes, the Roseg Valley and the impressive Bernina Massif.
When you’re already on Muottas Muragl, you almost have to take a short hike. The hike to the Segantini Hut (2’730 m ASL) and to the Alp Languard (2’330 m ASL) offers an even more spectacular view. This hike takes about 3 ½ hours and is partly pretty ambitious (3 narrow passes made safe with fixed cables). The Segantini Hut, which was working place of the world famous painter Giovanni Segantini, is the perfect place to take a break.
